A hissing floor is a symptom of a deeper problem. It tells you that your floor is moving more than it should. Over time, this movement will fatigue the locking joints until they eventually break. Once the joints break, the floor will begin to separate, and you will see gaps appearing between the planks. You cannot fix a hiss with a spray lubricant or by shoving shim in the gaps. The only real fix is to pull up the floor and address the subfloor. It is a hard truth that most people do not want to hear.
